Connect ESYLUX smoke detector and Loxone

To realize the mandatory fire detection system I decided to install smoke detectors with 230V~ power supply and a interconnection. My requirement was a possibility to interact with the Loxone Miniserver too.

And for sure – it must be a cheap solution.

After a disappointing experience with a model from SI…NS I changed to ESYLUX.

The ESYLUX Protektor series comes with a relay unit that easily can be connected to an Miniserver Extension input.

Wiring example – Due to the Relay is an „active on alarm“ model it should not be used to any critical safety function. But in this case it is only needed for additional functions like sending an notice to a mobile and switching on the lights in the house. Even if this would not work in an fire event the smoke detection itself and the acoustic horn will still work in any case.

To install the relay into the electrical cabinet I designed a DIN-rail mount which is 3D printable.

Program in Loxone Config

My functionality is switching on all important lights to support fast and easy situation overview during nightly alarms.
The light will stay on minimum 30 Minutes – or until some pressed reset on the Loxone App.
And a notification via E-Mail if the alarm occurs when nobody is at home.
