Field-Node Project for Loxone smart home

Starting a new project is always one of the most interesting phases of building something.

Transfering thoughts into real life makes things touchable which have been volatile.

Main Idea behind this project is to build a field node to control the technical components of my pond. Precisely pumps and filters. But additionally I’d like to add some IoT and smart aspects.

Aspects like:

  • temperature in different water layers
  • water quality
  • pump power consumption
  • filter state
  • fish and frog observation
  • light scenes
  • automated feeding
  • ice controll and warning

This project is meant to grow. Not to be perfect in the first shot.

To start this process I start with controlling the pumps. And implement the possibility for my Loxone smart home to collect data and take control. For that i put together:

  • power connection
  • power supply
  • downstepper
  • NodeMCU controller
  • i2C bus
  • relais board
